University of Chicago Scavenger Hunt Items
All items produced within an annual 84 hour period, with whatever materials happen to be available! Check the list archive here for more details on each item referenced. I do not own any intellectual property referenced in these items. The items represent a parody version of the IP and are made for the sole purpose of having fun.

2021, Item 45. A plushie of Buzzy, the animatronic known and loved for hosting Cranium Command. 18.5 points. My plushie was created as a Waldorf doll. His clothes are sewn from Halloween costume scraps. His eyes and mouth are embroidered, while his glasses and headset are made of wire wrapped in embroidery floss. The ear cups on his headset are made of protein shake bottle caps covered in black disposable tablecloth!

2014 (2), item 55. A topographically representative Settlers of Catan map. 30 points. I fabricated this out of spray foam, papier-mache, and wood. It is fully playable and contains one rule variation, which is a resource penalty for building roads by mountain tiles because they are difficult to traverse. The year of scav was called 2014 (2) because 2014 (1) was actually 2013: the judges decided 2013 was bad luck.

2018, item 175. A representation of a television where a remote can control different elements of the cartoon scene. 150 points. I built this from an old bookshelf, with the interactive elements constructed out of Lego Technic with Power Functions IR motors and the IR remote. The IR receivers are hidden in the scene from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

2020, Item 96. A Tensegrity sculpture. 10 points. My sculpture is made from a few of my 10,000+ piece Lego collection, as well as some yarn.

2020, Item 79. An Unraveled-style video going way too deep on the kids' educational game Freddi Fish. Script and video editing by me, Rebecca Husk as Brian David Gilbert. Full video is in the link below.

2015, item 167. A hand-knit human cozy. 18 points. I contributed the head and one foot.

2018, Item 159. A piece of concept art depicting a theme park pavilion based on a microstate. 29 points. Mine is based on Iceland, which is micro in population, but macro in our hearts. My very first piece of theme park concept art!

2016, Item 263. Jeff "The Palace Of" Goldblum costume. On Scav Road Trip, each road trip participant must wear a ridiculous costume for the duration, themed around one of the destinations on the trip. Mine was a play on Jeff Goldblum and the Palace of Gold in West Virginia, so I wore all yellow.

2016, Item 14. WaWaldo, one of our road trip characters, hiding in the shark's mouth at Dinosaur Land in Virginia.

2016, Item 148. On our road trip, we had to bring four participants and one Canada Goose. Since none of us owned the parka or a wildlife sanctuary, we made a pet goose out of cardboard, and encountered a real goose along the way!

2015, Item 60. The map of the UChicago campus in the style of maps from the Winnie the Pooh books. 15 points. My map is watercolor with oil pastel accents. Given that this is six years old, I would want to redo many things about it with my increased skill in art and drawing from an isometric perspective.
2018, Item 112. An Instagram post documenting the happy adventures of a lost glove. 9.99 points. I took and edited all the photos.

2015, item 55. A bar of Irish Spring soap, carved with a Dove, Lava, and an Ivory-producing elephant. 12 points. I carved this with the non-business end of a safety pin.

2015, Item 29. A MONIAC computer that demonstrates the life cycle of a star. 175 points. I painted it and did some of the fabrication and woodworking.

2021, Item 173. Kiki and Bouba's delivery service poster. 1 point. I contributed one point of effort to this!

2020, Item 3. This is an original character created in Planet Coaster for a theme park pavilion based on communism. 28.85 points for the full pavilion, including a ride, a shop, two restaurants, and one special tour location. His name is Spectre, the Spectre of communism. Full pitch deck for this wacky, irreverent pavilion available on request.
